Linda Hannath Reid, 76, of Brenham, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on March 12th, 10 am. Pastor Ogrodowicz will officiate. The family invites guests to attend a reception at Grace Lutheran Church immediately following the internment at Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Linda Hannath Reid was born in Brenham, Texas, on July 21, 1949, to parents Edwin Barry and Dorothy Dorman Westerfeld Hannath. Linda was baptized, confirmed, and married at Zion Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas. She was a 1967 graduate of Brenham High School. Linda married Alan Wayne Reid on February 8, 1969, in Zion Lutheran Church. Linda and Alan were residents of Brenham, where she was employed for nearly 40 years and retired from Dr. Chris McCarty's pediatric dentistry. Linda was a very active member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she was involved in numerous activities and committees, including the Ladies Afternoon Circle, the annual Turkey Supper, Vacation Bible School, and Grace Lutheran School art, among others. She enjoyed working in her flowerbeds and going to the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library, as reading was a true joy for her. Linda was also a longtime fan of The University of Texas Longhorn athletics and loved wearing her burnt orange. However, her favorite pastime was spending time with her 7 grandchildren.
Linda is preceded in death by parents Edwin and Dorothy Hannath, brother Roger Hannath, grandparents Chris and Elizabeth Westerfeld and Ida Hannath, niece Rebecca Hannath Marshall, uncle and aunt Felix and Hilda Hanath and their son, James Hanath, father-in-law and mother-in-law Howard and Nancy Reid, and sister-in-law Glenda Sue Jordan.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Alan Reid, her three children and spouses, Rhonda Reid Meili, Michael and Priscila Reid, Timothy and Miriam Reid. Grandchildren Michael "MJ", Nicholas, and Nathan Meili, Caroline and Catherine Reid, Luke and Caleb Reid. Other survivors are brother and sister-in-law Barry and Pam Hannath, sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Lonnie Tegeler, sister-in-law Suzanne Hannath, brother-in-law and sister-in-law David and Hazel Reid, cousin Peggy Mabry, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
If desired, memorial donations may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church School, Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library, or the Brazos Valley Cancer Center.
Pallbearers are Richard Liere, David Dahmann, Stephen Folsom, Billy Thaler, Charles Babb, and Michael Parks.
