Leonard Wayne Wittneben, 78, of Industry, TX, died on May 14, 2023.

A visitation will be held from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. A visitation with the family present will be held from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2023 at Welcome Lutheran Church.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2023 at Welcome Lutheran Church with Pastor John Sutton officiating. Burial will follow at the Welcome Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Leonard was born on February 4, 1945 in Brenham, TX to Edgar and Aletha Warmke Wittneben. He was baptized on March 25, 1945 at Welcome Lutheran Church and confirmed on March 22, 1959. He married his wife, Lynn Faist, on June 26, 1965 at Welcome Lutheran Church. He ran track for Bellville High School and worked in the construction business. He was the owner of Wittneben Siding for many years and his wife and him ran the Welcome Store.

Leonard was a member of Welcome Lutheran Church, Welcome-West-End Fair Boosters, and Industry Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, coaching, Little League and Welcome Store Girls Softball, farming, ranching, and watching college sports. He served on the church council and was a cubmaster for several years.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Lynn Wittneben of Industry, TX; son, Mark Wayne Wittneben of College Station, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Brian Lane Wittneben and wife Blair of Dallas, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Kerri Lynn Schovajsa and husband Michael of Industry, TX; sister, Jean Nell Wittneben of Bleiblerville, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Lori Ann Jackson and husband Steven of Bellville, TX; grandchildren, Chad Schovajsa and wife Alyssa, Cory Schovajsa, Lane Wittneben, and Grey Wittneben; great-grandchildren, Scott Schovajsa, and Wayne Schovajsa; brothers-in-law, Paul Faist and wife Jeanette, and Clemons Faist and wife Cathy; nieces, nephews, and cousins; aunts, Annie Marie Peveto and La Dell Wittneben.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Aletha Wittneben; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Evelyn, Clemons Faist; and sister-in-law, Dottie Faist.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Chad Schovajsa, Cory Schovajsa, Steven Jackson, Bryan Kestler, Chad Wittneben, and Luis Garcia. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Clemons Faist, Paul Faist, Byron Wittneben, Clay Wittneben, and Charlie Schramm.

Memorials may be directed to Welcome Lutheran Church Building 13636 FM109, Brenham, TX 77833, the Cemetery Fund, Industry Fire Department, or Bleiblerville Fire Department.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
