Lawrence Miller, Jr.

Lawrence W. (L.W.) Miller, Jr., 90, died April 15, 2019 in Brenham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Katrina Walther officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Lawrence W. Miller, Jr. was born April 28, 1928 in Muldoon, Texas to Lawrence Wilson Sr. and Ida Koopman Miller. He was confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church and on May 7, 1959, married Peggy Renz in the same church, where he remained a member until his death. L. W. served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed by the Acme Bridge Co. for over 30 years as a site supervisor.

An avid University of Texas sports fan, he also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his pets, especially his dog Misty. Hunting and fishing were also favorite pastimes. L. W. was a soft-spoken person. He treasured time spent with his granddaughter, Emma, as well as the rest of his family.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Cynthia Miller of Cypress; granddaughter, Emma May Miller; sister-in-law, Alice Miller of Smithville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

L W. was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Miller; his parents; granddaughter, Evelyn Elizabeth Miller; 3 sisters, Esther, Adelia, and Alleen and brother, Robert Henry.

Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church.
