Ladine Ruth Schumacher, 99, passed away August 25, 2024 at Kruse Village in Brenham.
Ladine was born July 11, 1925, in their home on the family farm, in Burton, Texas to Gus and Martha (Thiele) Jaroszewski. She graduated from Burton schools and later attended Blinn College. In 1947, Ladine married Henry Schumacher and they made their home in Hempstead, Texas.
Ladine worked in the auditor's office in the Waller County Courthouse. She proudly played the organ for many years at First United Methodist Church in Hempstead, where she was also a devoted member. Ladine was a loyal member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Waller County chapter, and dedicated to showing loving-kindness and making a positive difference in the community.
Ladine is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Schumacher) Stelter and husband Ray of Waller; son, Bob Schumacher of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren: Shelley Hill and husband John, Chris Stelter and wife Melanie, and Will Schumacher and wife Kelsie; great-grandchildren: Kaitlin and Luke Hill; Megan and Tyler Stelter, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Schumacher, her parents, and twin brothers.
Funeral services for Ladine Ruth Schumacher will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church in Hempstead with Pastor Glenn Schoeneberg officiating. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 Tuesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
Pallbearers for the service will be: David Jaroszewski, Karl Jaroszewski, Mike Jaroszewski, John Hill, Luke Hill and Tyler Stelter. Honorary pallbearers will be: Richard Jaroszewski and Bob Jaroszewski.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church of Hempstead, 1010 7th St., Hempstead, Texas. 77445.
Funeral arrangements for Ladine Schumacher are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham.
