Kimberly McDonald Gibson passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Houston Methodist Hospital with family by her side.
She was born on November 20, 1956 and raised in Houston, TX by her adoptive mother Katie Cron.
Kimberly and her husband, Alan Gibson, were active community members in Chappell Hill, TX, where they married in the Providence Church in 2019. They met as teenagers in Houston, and reunited in 2017, her true love story.
Kimberly studied at Texas A & M University and later graduated with an art degree from SMU. Her devotion to A & M continued when her son, Sam McDonald, joined the corps of cadets and later studied Veterinary Medicine. She was so proud to proclaim "my son, the doctor"! She attended many football games, march-ins, and joined the Aggie Moms Club. She later worked at the A & M College of Medicine until her passing.
She was a member of the Daughters of the king at St, Peters Episcopal Church in Brenham, TX. She enjoyed and supported the Unity Theater and was a board member and supporter of the Chappell Hill Historical Society. After moving from Round Rock, TX to Chappell Hill, she was delighted to find her own community in the country. She loved a quiet glass of wine on the front porch with her husband, Alan, and looked forward to every adventure in their camper with their scruffy dog Finn.
She is preceded in her death by her mother, Katie Cron, and her father, Myrv Cron. She is survived by her husband, Alan Gibson, her son, Sam McDonald, and her daughter in love, Sarah McDonald. She was loved by many and will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Kimberly's Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 18th from 4pm till 7pm at the Chappell Hill Historical Society Museum, 9220 Poplar St. Chappell Hill, TX. This is a casual event. Come by to toast her memory. Visit with friends and family.
