A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church of Brenham on November 23, 2021, at 10:30 AM with Father Stephen Whaley officiating.
Sondra Kaye Deaver was born on November 24, 1943 in Bryan, Texas to parents Royce and Marcille (Oden) Deaver. She spent her childhood in Giddings before the family relocated to Brenham. Kaye graduated from Brenham High School in 1967. She became a certified Reflexologist in 1972 and worked as a practitioner until her death.
Kaye’s life was marked by service to and involvement in her community, starting when she was young. Kaye was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was passionate about art and music and enjoyed participating in community theatre productions. She most enjoyed her role as a Nun in the Sound of Music production, as it gave her a chance to showcase her vocal abilities. She was a member of the Brenham Chorale. A highlight of recent years was the group’s trip to perform at Carnegie Hall in the year 2002.
Kaye was a very social person who never met a stranger. Kaye especially enjoyed her involvement with St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. She was a dedicated Christian and loved her church family dearly. She was a member of the Church Choir for many years, served as the church’s Youth Director, was a member of the Daughters of the King organization, a communion minister, and more. She loved contributing her time and talents to every event.
Kaye will be remembered as a friendly and loving person with a generous heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, including her two children, two grandchildren, and too many friends to count. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother.
