After a valiant struggle for 34 years with Type I Diabetes aka Juvenile Diabetes, Kate's earthly journey came to an end. She was at home in Burton and began her healing and heavenly walk with Jesus on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Her kindness, humor, laughter and strong yet gentle spirit will be greatly missed.

Kate (Kathryn Elizabeth) was born June 26, 1975 in Houston TX to Jay Yarter and Jan Lucas. She attended St Mark's Episcopal School and Church, Pershing Middle School, Lamar High School, Texas Tech University and St. Thomas University. Her love of music, theatre, the beach and animals permeated her existence. Kate's precious animals Sadie (Say-Say), Isabella (Izabella-poops-alot), Lucy, Mercedes, Mollie, Willie Nelson, Charlie Pride and Lola were her babies. Kate was hilariously funny and a queen of nicknames. She never took a nap ... it was always a nipper-napper-noodle. Even her plants received special names.

Kate is survived by her parents, other extended family members and dear longtime friends. Kate was preceded in death by her wonderful grandparents, one uncle, two aunts and several pets. As per Kate's wish, there will be no public service.
