Juan Ortiz

Juan Ortiz, 84, of Chappell Hill, died December 22, 2013 at Scott and White Hospital in College Station. Mr. Ortiz was born October 20, 1929 in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico. Survivors include sons Rodolfo Ortiz and wife Maria, Jorge Ortiz, Reymundo Ortiz, and Reynolda Ortiz and wife Melissa; daughters and sons-in-law Maria and Florentino Hernandez, and Maria and Conrado Salas, as well as a brother, Bernardo Ortiz, 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Amalia Gomez Ortiz and a son, Juan Gilberto Ortiz. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Mary''s Catholic Church in Brenham, with Father Ernesto Elizondo officiating. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Cemetery in Chappell Hill. A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 6 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Florentino Hernandez, Jr., Luis Hernandez, Canradi Salas, Jr., Jose Ortiz, Hector Ortiz, Antonio Ortiz, Reymundo Ortiz, and Damian Ortiz.
