Joyce Elaine Drews, 67, of Brenham, died June 18, 2003, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mrs. Drews was born Oct. 23, 1935, in Burton, to Ferdinand and Bertha Emilie Mueller Jaster. She was baptized Jan. 26, 1936, in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton and was confirmed on April 2, 1950, in the same church. On Sept. 7, 1957, she married Lee Roy Drews in Zion Lutheran Church in Zionsville. Mrs. Drews was a secretary for Lee Roy Drews Construction and was a member of the Stroke Support Group. Survivors include her husband, Lee Roy Drews of Brenham; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Milton and Elvera Drews, Dorothy and Wilfred Hohlt, Marjorie and Weldon Krinke and Alvira Drews, all of Brenham; nieces and nephews, Debbie and Tony Lynn, Carol and Rickey Gaskamp, Kathy and Craig Blum, Gary and Sherry Krinke, Ronnie and Sheri Hohlt, Kim and Paul Cmajdalka and Joan and Elroy Dannhaus; great-nieces and great-nephews, Katie and Torie Lynn, Josh and J.T. Gaskamp, Audrey and Lauren Blum, Mallorie and Maci Hohlt, Andrew and Kyla Cmajdalka and Scot Dannhaus. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Flora Jahnke and Lonie Jaster; mother-in-law and father-in-law; brothers-in-law, Edward Jahnke and Willie Drews, Jr.; and niece, Linda Krinke Scott. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 20 in Zion Lutheran Church in Zionsville with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel Thursday, June 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Rickey Gaskamp, Craig Blum, Gary Krinke, Ronnie Hohlt, Paul Cmajdalka, Elroy Dannhaus, Scot Dannhaus, Josh Gaskamp and J.T. Gaskamp. Members of the Stroke Support Group will be considered honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund.
