Jones Edward Moehlmann passed away on November 25, 2025 in Brenham.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville with Pastor John Van Haneghan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Jones was born on October 30, 1936 in the Sandy Hill community in Washington County, to August Moehlmann and Emma Kerney Moehlmann. He was baptized on December 27, 1936 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Pastor Paul Gogolin. He was confirmed on April 6, 1952 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill by Pastor A.M. Fiedler. On June 12, 1960 he was united in marriage to DeLois Marie Grimm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg by Pastor H. Brunette.
He was employed as an upholsterer for over 60 years, having worked in Houston and at Maddox Furniture. His favorite thing to do in his spare time was fishing. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville.
He is survived by his wife, DeLois Moehlmann; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Alan Hutson; grandchildren, Crystal Lee Watson and husband, Ty; great-grandchild, Aurorie Alana Watson; and numerous, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Emma Jean Roese and brothers, Clarence Moehlmann and Leroy Moehlmann.
