Johnny Danesi

Johnny Dean Danesi, 59, passed away January 4, 2020 in Victoria, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin, with Pastor Ken Weiss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Johnny Danesi was born in Galveston, TX on August 12, 1960 to Louis and Jeanne (Simpson) Danesi. He married the love of his life, Nancy (Weidner) Danesi on September 7, 1985 at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church. He graduated from Texas City High School and TSTI to begin a thirty-eight-year career in the automotive industry with Ford Motor Company.

For over twenty years, he was involved in Boy Scouts and earned the Silver Beaver, which is the highest award an adult can receive at the council level. He also held the position of advancement chair in district level. His was involved in Troop 742, district camp-o-ree, and scout master training.

Johnny was a proud member of Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church. He was a Sunday school teacher, a youth leader, and he held various positions on the church council, including chairman. He was also part of the Washington County Fair Goat and Chuck Wagon committees.

In his free time, he enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family, which he loved dearly. When asked what he did for a living, he would respond with “I play with cars”.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Danesi; son, Matthew Danesi; son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Emily Danesi; grandson, Crawford Dean Danesi; mother, Jeanne Danesi; brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony and Kathy Danesi, and David and Carolyn Danesi; brother, Michael Danesi; sister, Patricia Garmon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Mike Carr, and Kathie and Mike Ridlen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Ida Mae Weidner; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Connie and Robert Warmke, Peggy and Kirk Still, and Donnie Anderson; numerous nephews-in-law, nieces-in-law, great nieces and nephews.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Louis Danesi; brother-in-law, Jason Hauerland, and sister-in-law, Linda Anderson.

Serving as pallbearers will be nephews, Gary Anderson, Adam Carr, John Carr, Russell Carr, Jacob Danesi, Jeremy Danesi, Louis Danesi, Payton Hauerland, Preston Hauerland, and Wesley Warmke. Honorary Pallbearers will be nieces, Hannah Anderson, Ellen Blackwell, Leigh Anne Green, Leighanne Jones, Katie Ridlen, Shelbie Ridlen, Nicole Smith, Shannon Vinson, and Amanda Wagner.

Memorials may be directed to Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church, 356 S. Berlin Road, Brenham, TX 77833 or to Foster Care Ministry In Care of Beltway Park Church, 4009 Beltway S., Abilene, TX 79606.

Funeral arrangements for Johnny Dean Danesi are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
