Johnnie Jankowiak

Johnnie Jankowiak, 80, of Brenham passed away September 17, 2025.

Johnnie was born on March 30, 1945 to John and Rosie Ofczarczak Jankowiak. He was baptized June 9, 1945 and confirmed September 5, 1971. On June 26, 1971 he married Doris Jean Kelm. They were married for 43 years before she passed away on September 4, 2014.

Every morning, he began his day with a walk around his neighborhood. He was a very active member of Christ Lutheran Church attending services faithfully. He often volunteered his time at the Senior Center. He also served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion. Johnnie loved fundraisers, often bidding or over bidding on sweet treats he enjoyed. He had a very giving heart.

Survivors include his daughters: Christy Doss and husband, Brad of Caldwell, Chandra Jankowiak of Austin; grandson Damian Doss of Caldwell; brothers: Henry Jankowiak and wife, Sandra, Charles Jankowiak and wife, Latrell, Billy Joe Jankowiak and wife, Betsy; sister: Irene Andrejczak all of Brenham and numerous nieces and nephews.

Johnnie is preceded in death by his wife Doris Jankowiak, his parents and sister, Dorothy Gates.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2025 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20 at Christ Lutheran Church, 1104 Carlee Drive in Brenham. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Brandon Jankowiak, Brent Jankowiak, Jon Jankowiak, Cody Andrejczak, Mark Andrejczak and Brandon Schovajsa.

Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran Church or to Christ Lutheran Church Day School.
