John Ulrich

John Luschen Ulrich, 90, of Brenham, passed away on July 12, 2022. John was born on October 12, 1931 in Yukon, Oklahoma to John W. and Dorothy Ida (Luschen) Ulrich.  He was baptized on July 24, 1944 and on May 17, 1952 he married Mary Lou Gasper.

John was in the Airforce during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Measurement Technician for Trunkline Gas Company.

John was welcoming to everyone he met and his family was very important to him.  He loved gardening, fishing, woodworking and was an avid reader. He liked to partake of the spirits. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Ulrich; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Gwen Ulrich of Cypress, TX; Daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and David Teller of Pflugerville, TX, Wendy and Brian Potter of Bastrop, TX.  Brother-in-law, Raymond Walker of Brenham and sister-in-law, Carolyn Gasper of Kerrville, TX.  Sisters, Dorothy Fitt of Bloomington, TX, Colleen Shuck of Cypress, TX and Rosemary Treichel of Caynon, TX; grandchildren, Jenny Williams and husband Kris, Amanda Kubeczka and husband Kyle, Matthew Ulrich, Kerri Houck and husband Brad, Michael Teller and wife Rachael, Laura Teller and husband Jonathan Crabtree, and David Teller; great-grandchildren Kesler, Ruthie, Stori, Milo, Dottie Mae, Noble, and Graham Williams, Oliver Kubeczka, Benjamin and Evelyn Crabtree.

He is preceded in death by parents, John W. and Dorothy Ulrich; brothers-in-law, Johny Ray Fitt, Charles Shuck, and numerous brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law from the Gasper side of the family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kris Williams, Kyle Kubeczka, Matthew Ulrich, Brad Houck, Michael Teller, David Teller, and Jonathan Crabtree.

A visitation will be held from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 18, 2022 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with the family present from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill with Pastor Norman Sulaica officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
