Jo Ann Hundemer

December 13, 1955 — March 23, 2022

Jo Ann Eberhardt Hundemer, 66, of Latium passed away on March 23, 2022.

Jo Ann was born December 13, 1955 at Milroy Hospital in Brenham, TX. She was the second of four children born to Armond and Lucille Koerth Eberhardt. She was baptized January 29, 1956 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg in Burton, TX. Jo Ann was confirmed in the same church on March 22, 1970. She grew up in Burton, TX and graduated from Burton H.S. in 1974. She went on to graduate from Blinn College in 1976.

On March 15, 1985, Jo Ann was united in marriage to Mark Hundemer at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg. They made their home in Latium, TX where they raised their two daughters, Sarah Jo and Haley Ann.

Jo Ann was employed at Blinn College as a student worker until she graduated in 1976. She started her career in the Payroll Department and then the Accounting Department until her retirement in 2011. She was an outstanding wife, mother, and Mimi.  Jo Ann especially loved being Mimi to her 4 grandchildren. They were the light of her life, loving and caring for them with every ounce of her being. She enjoyed living the country life. She looked forward to hummingbird season each year and always had her hummingbird figurines on display. Jo Ann loved decorating the house for each season and holiday. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family at Christmas. She was known for her cookies and candies that she would make every year. And, she especially had a sweet tooth. You could walk in the house at any time and find the candy dish full and cookies in the cookie jar. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She stayed busy around the house, but you could occasionally catch her sitting down watching her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. Rockport was the yearly family vacation spot that she looked forward to, where many memories were made with family and friends.

Jo Ann is survived by her husband Mark of 36 years; daughters Sarah McKeown and husband Robert McKeown, III of Brenham, TX and Haley Folsom and husband Bryan Folsom of Brenham, TX; grandchildren Hunter Folsom, Brady and Brody Folsom and Karlee McKeown; brother Tim Eberhardt; sister Jennie Simpson and husband Jerry Simpson; aunt Dorothy Eberhardt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Scott and Vickie Hundemer and Barry and Jan Hundemer; and numerous nieces, newphews, and cousins.
