James Rogers

October 20, 1932 — August 7, 2003

James Ross Rogers, 70, of Brenham, died Aug. 7, 2003, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mr. Rogers was born Oct. 20, 1932, in Sparkenburg, South Carolina, to Elick and Myrtle Gummelt Rogers. He attended Rehburg School. For 27 years, he was employed with the City of Brenham Parks Department. Survivors include his sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha Monroe of Brenham, Ella Maud and Reinhardt Kramer of Burton and Ivy and Wesley Kettler of Brenham; his half brother and sister-in-law, T.J. and Margie Kizziah of Abadine, Mississippi; and nephews, Randy Kettler, Darrell and Keith Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elick Rogers Jr.; brother-in-law, Bobby Monroe; nephew, Rory Seilheimer; five half brothers and one half sister. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastor Larry Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. A devotion will begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday. At the family s request, memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rehburg. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, in Brenham.
