James Edward Grimm, 77 passed away in the early morning of Friday, March 13, 2026.
James was born on October 31, 1948 in Brenham, Texas to Raymond and Alma (Niemeyer) Grimm.
On July 3, 1966, James married the love of his life, Carolyn Schultz. He was employed by Grant Pride Co. for over 25 years before retiring. He was always known for his love of fishing at the river and being around his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Carolyn Grimm; sons and daughters-in-law: Jeffery and Kelly Grimm, David and Donna Grimm; grandchildren: Derek Grimm and wife, Taylor, Ashley Douglas and husband, Josh, Macey Tidwell and husband, Jake, Tayler Bolcerek and husband, Chance, Austin Grimm and wife, Savannah, Ty Grimm and wife, Emily, and Savannah Grimm; great grandchildren: Rylie Douglas, Paisley Douglas, Aubrey Grimm, Emma Tidwell, Mac Tidwell, Harper Bolcerek, Rheagan Bolcerek, Elaynie Grimm, soon to be baby Ellie Grimm, and Waylon Grimm.
James is preceded by his parents, Raymond and Alma Grimm, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Raymond and Odell Schultz, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Shirley Schultz, Betty Randermann, Rosa Lee and Jim Troy, Gernell and Albin Jasinski, Doris and Bubba Wagner, Clint Mantey and nieces, Krystal Weatherly and Vicki Weiss.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastor Norm Sulaica, officiant. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Derek Grimm, Josh Douglas, Chance Bolcerek, Austin Grimm, Ty Grimm and Jake Tidwell.
Honorary pallbearers include Arvin Wagner, Vernon Wagner, Peewee Kalkhake, Marvin Roehling and Bubba Mantey.
Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill.
