Isabel Sehlke

Isabel A. Sehlke, 92, of Burton, died Nov. 12, 2003, in Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village in Brenham. Mrs. Sehlke was born Jan. 28, 1911, in Washington County, TX, to Charles and Otillia Draeger Lamp. She attended Burton schools. On Feb. 12, 1931, she married Edward Louis Sehlke in St. Peter s Lutheran Church in Gay Hill. Mrs. Sehlke was a homemaker and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rehburg. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Ruby Sehlke of Brenham; daughters and son-in-law, Betty Hohlt of Brenham and Clarice and Bobby Bredthauer of Bryan; brother, Henry Becker of San Antonio; 5 grandchildren, Allen Hohlt and wife Connie, Pastor Glenn Hohlt, Kevin Hohlt and wife Cathie, Craig Hohlt and Byron Bredthauer; and 3 great-grandchildren, Neal Hohlt, Megan Hohlt, and Brittany Hohlt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Sehlke on April 11, 1984; son-in-law, Elmer Hohlt; grandson, Robert Sehlke; three brothers; and three sisters. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rehburg with Pastor Larry Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Howard Giese, Allen Hohlt, Pastor Glenn Hohlt, Kevin Hohlt, Craig Hohlt and Byron Bredthauer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rehburg or Hospice Brazos Valley, 705 S. Austin, Brenham, TX 77833. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
