Herbert Pieper

Herbert Andrew Pieper, 93, of Brenham, died May 6, 2003, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mr. Pieper was born Jan. 9, 1910, in the New Wehdem community to John and Laura Poeppelmeyer Pieper. He was baptized and confirmed in St. James Lutheran Church in New Wehdem. He was educated at New Wehdem School. On Nov. 25, 1939, he married Hattie Schomburg in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg. Mr. Pieper was a farmer and was employed by Grimm s Radiator Shop for 35 years. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in New Wehdem and was a charter member of the Wonder Hill Shooting Club. Mr. Pieper loved hunting, fishing and watching Astros games. Survivors include his wife, Hattie Pieper of Brenham; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Virginia Pieper and Jerry and Christine Pieper, all of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Kern Borlin of Artesia, NM; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Bennie and Erna Pieper of Brenham and Alfred and Norma Pieper of New Wehdem. Mr. Pieper was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8th in St. James Lutheran Church in New Wehdem with Pastor Sid Bohls officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Robert Ressel, Lynn Pieper, Lloyd Pieper, Dewayne Jasinski, Wayne Schomburg and Larry Pieper. All grandchildren will be considered honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church in New Wehdem. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
