Herbert Ladewig

Herbert Hugo Ladewig, 89, of College Station, died Nov. 12, 2003, in College Station. Mr. Ladewig was born Jan. 31, 1914, in Colorado County, TX, to Louis and Hattie Ladewig. On Nov. 24, 1938, he married Emma Christensen in Danevang Lutheran Church in Danevang. Mr. Ladewig was retired from Texas A&M University maintenance in the animal science department and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in College Station. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Nancy Ladewig of Bryan and Howard and Kathy Ladewig of Gainsville, Florida; 4 grandchildren, Terri Snider, Nathan Ladewig, Tammi Caskey and Traci Morgan; 5 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Lester Ladewig of Louise and Eugene Ladewig of El Campo. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emma Ladewig; two brothers and four sisters. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 in Danevang Cemetery, near El Campo, with Rev. Craig Borchardt officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church in College Station. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
