Gary Elmer

Gary William Elmer, 79, husband of Carroll Elmer, died May 16, 2013 in Brenham. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 1 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church in Brenham, with Pastors Mark Groves and Walt Schindehette officiating. Interment of cremains will take place in Terre Haute, Indiana at a later late. Gary Elmer was born April 18, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio to William Harold and Marge Houtz Elmer. He was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith. After obtaining a Master''s Degree from Purdue, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi, he worked as a chemical engineer in the oil industry. On May 5, 1957, he married Carroll Hartmann, and the couple made Brenham their home. Gary was a member of the Texas Master Gardeners Association. Survivors include his wife, Carroll Elmer of Brenham; sons William Henry Elmer of Houston and Barry Allen Elmer of Bryan, and a brother, Gregg Elmer and wife Marsha of Champaign, Illinois.
