Frances Mae Butler, 79, of Brenham, TX, passed away on February 23, 2021 in Houston, TX.
A visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with the family present from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2021 at New Life Church of God in Brenham, TX with Albert Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Carter Cemetery.
Mrs. Butler was born on January 10, 1942 in Burton, TX to Albert and Laura Nealy Wright. She married her husband, Robert Blackwell Butler, on October 10, 1979.
Mrs. Butler worked as a bus driver in the transportation industry. Frances enjoyed spending time with family and traveling. Cleaning, sweeping, and a tidy house were her trademarks. She loved to plan a party or gathering of any kind; get togethers were her favorite. She never met a stranger, caring for and loving people were highly important to her. There was no one who had a way with words like Frances did.
She is survived by her mom, Laura Nealy Wright of Brenham, TX; daughters, Johnnie Mayo of Channelview, TX, and Debra Harge of Brenham, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Betty Kettler and husband Mark of Brenham, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Albert Wright and wife Emma of Brenham, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law, Yvonne Williams and husband James Earl of Prentiss, MS, and Carrie Price and husband Vincent of Houston, TX; sisters, Verna Mae Wynne of Houston, TX, Golden Campbell of Houston, TX, Joyce Perro of Houston, TX, and Annie Wright of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Jonelle Mayo, Jeffrey Mayo II and wife Misty Jimenez, Teresa Johnson, Terrence and wife Holly Johnson, and Kendrick Fisher; great-grandchildren, Elisha Boland, Jonesia Boland, Jo’El Mayo, Margaret Jade Mayo, and Rosalee Mayo; special friends Johnie Ray, Matt and wife Tabitha Chovanec, Jenny, Dathan, Chasidy, and Bradley Nowicki.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Johnnie Harge; son, Curtis Harge; husband, Robert Blackwell Butler; Father, Albert Wright; brothers, JB Wright, James Wright, son-in-law, Jeffrey Mayo, and special son Thomas Chovanec.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Kettler, Brian Rosenbaum, Matt Chovanec, Todd Wright, Chad Wright, JB Wright, and Albert Wright. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jenny and Dathan Nowicki, Tabitha Chovanec, and Landon Wright.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, Tx 77833.
