Estella Schoenst

March 17, 1917 — September 11, 2003

Estella Ida Schoenst, 86, of Carmine, TX, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mrs. Schoenst was born March 17, 1917, in Shelby, TX, to Theodore and Mary Quade Neumann. She was baptized on March 24, 1918 in Shelby and was confirmed Sept. 18, 1932 in Winedale. On Jan. 10, 1937, she married Fritz Schoenst, Sr. in Winedale. Mrs. Schoenst was a homemaker. She was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Fritz and Jeanette Schoenst, Melvin Schoenst and friend Lillie Kasparek and Roger and Kathy Schoenst, all of Carmine; grandchildren, Sue Lynn Schoenst, Staci and Levi Welsh, Heather Schoenst, Mandy Schoenst and Chance Schoenst, all of Carmine; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and numerous sisters and brothers. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, in Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine with Pastor Paul Bohot officiating. Burial will be in Carmine Cemetery in Carmine. The family will receive visitors at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Wilton Schoenst, Kim Sternadel and Larry Jaeger. Memorials may be given to Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Foehner Funeral Home in Burton.
