Elton “Pete” Rodenbeck of Brenham, Texas, died on December 7, 2018, at the age of 78. Pete was born November 2, 1940, in Cedar Hill, Texas, son of Chas and Lydia Lueck Rodenbeck.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Gay Hill, Texas, with Pastor Skip Stutts officiating.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Elton was a charter member of Cedar Hill Shooting Club. He loved to socialize after work, and visit his friends at Kelm Store, Robert’s Service Station, and Independence Store. Elton worked for Leon Stegant and Ronald Jaster Painting Contractor. He was a member Gay Hill V.F.D. and past Chief, and was a member Gay Hill Sons of Hermann Lodge. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his sister-in-law Bernice Rodenbeck; his nephews and nieces Linda and Craig Borchardt, Curtis and Marlene Rodenbeck, Debbie and Mike Brau, Brenda and Ron Stone, and Carl and Deanna Rodenbeck; great nephews and nieces Morgan and Travis Wood, Joshua Borchardt , Mary Borchardt, Cullen and Jessica Rodenbeck, Brooke Rodenbeck, Matt McLendon, Dillon McLendon, Abby Brau, Amanda and Jason Grosze, Megan and Luke Atchley, and Connor Rodenbeck; great great nephews and nieces Mack McLendon, Emma McLendon, Jacob Wood, Millie McLendon, and Quinn Rodenbeck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother Lonnie; brothers and sisters-in-law Charlie Rodenbeck, Ervin and Dorothy Rodenbeck, and Melvin and Martha Rodenbeck; nephews Reggie Rodenbeck and Edward McLendon.
Serving as pallbearers are Craig Borchardt, Curtis Rodenbeck, Mike Brau, Matt McLendon, Dillon McLendon, Josh Borchardt, and Cullen Rodenbeck.
