Dora Engelbrecht

September 9, 1911 — March 6, 2003

Dora Hohlt Engelbrecht was born the 9th day of October, 1911, in Long Point, Texas, the daughter of Theodore and Mary Hohlt. She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Fayette Memorial Hospital in La Grange, Texas. She was 91 years old. Mrs. Engelbrecht was educated in the Long Point School system. She was united in marriage to Charles Engelbrecht in Zion Lutheran Church in Zionsville on Nov. 11, 1938, by Rev. J.F. Mgebroff. She and Charlie lived on their farm/ranch essentially all of their lives. She was an active member of the St. John s United Church of Christ and served in many functions. Mrs. Engelbrecht resided in Oakland Manor in Giddings since October of 2002. Mrs. Engelbrecht is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Engelbrecht; one daughter and son-in-law, Dean and Gloria Niday of Austin; and one son and daughter-in-law, Clyde and Lois Engelbrecht of Houston; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters. May God bless her memory. Services will be held Sunday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8 in Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Foehner Funeral Home in Burton.
