De Koerth, 64, of Brenham, Texas, passed away on May 25, 2026. She was born on July 22, 1961, in Mobile, Alabama, and carried the warmth of her Southern roots with her throughout her life.
De was a nurse, a calling that reflected the steady care and compassion she showed so naturally to the people around her. Those who knew her will remember her as loving, generous, and kind, someone whose presence brought comfort and whose care extended well beyond her work. She had a gentle way about her, and her sense of humor added lightness and joy to the lives she touched. Whether through a thoughtful word, a shared laugh, or a simple act of kindness, De had a way of making others feel seen and cared for.
Family meant everything to De. She was married to Gary Koerth. She was the proud mother of Kailyn Cole and mother-in-law to Travis Cole. Her grandchildren, Ellamae, Millie, and Wilkes Cole, held a very special place in her heart. De was devoted to them, and her love for her grandchildren was one of the clearest reflections of who she was. She cherished time with family and friends, and those moments together were among the things she valued most.
In her quieter moments, De found joy in gardening and knitting, pastimes that suited her patient and caring nature. She also remained a lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide fan. She enjoyed fishing in any body of water and was always ready for the next cast. These interests were part of the life she built, one rooted in family, love, and the comfort of simple pleasures.
De’s faith in Jesus was an important part of her life and a source of strength and hope. It was evident in the way she lived, in the grace she offered others, and in the calm and steady spirit she carried. Her life was a testament to faith lived out through kindness, devotion, and care for others.
De leaves behind a family and circle of friends who will deeply miss her warmth, her laughter, and her loving spirit. Her legacy will live on in the many lives she touched, especially in the hearts of her grandchildren, who will carry forward the memory of her love and the example she set.
