Diana Thomason Garner, 80 of Brenham, died August 2, 2023.

She was born March, 11, 1943 in Houston, TX to Bernard and Anita Thomason.

Diana was married to Buddy Garner, Sr. on March 11, 1982. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was involved in her community.  

Diana was known for her love of sewing- small dresses, gardening/flowers and she was very involved as a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. She was one of the founders of the BBQ committee and spent many hours at the Astrodome over the years, participating in various groups and organizations. 

In Washington County, she worked previously for both the Brenham and Burton school districts in their cafeterias. Her last employment was with Burton Short Stop as a cashier, which she did for several years. 

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law: Duane Garner and wife Misty of Eutaw, Alabama, Tim Garner and wife Cheryl of Mont Belview, Buddy Garner, Jr. & wife Betty of Pearland; daughters and son-in-law: Bridget Strouse & husband, Rick of Splendora, Kathy Howard of Houston, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece and nephew: Abby Bozarth & Scott Waller, Cody & Sara Bozarth and great nephew: Cooper Waller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and brother-in-law. 

Visitation will be at Memorial Oaks Chapel on Sunday, August 6, from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service.  The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m., Pastor Darrin Holub, officiant. 

Pallbearers include: Duane Garner, Tim Garner, Buddy Garner Jr., Delfred Gaskamp, Charles Gaskamp and Brad Murray. Honorary pallbearers include the employees of Burton Short Stop.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Brazos Valley Hospice.
