Diana Lynn Brooks Chism, lovingly known as Dee Dee, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, at 4:05 a.m. in Bryan, Texas, at the age of 70.

Diana was born on August 23, 1954, in Freeport, Texas, to Laurene and George Brooks. She attended Brazosport College and spent most of her professional life with Dow Chemical, from where she later retired after a dedicated career.

She was a pillar of strength and a phenomenal mother in raising her girls. Her love, guidance, and unwavering support shaped the lives of those around her and will remain her greatest legacy.

Diana was a creative spirit who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid reader and loved to crochet, paint, and practice macramé. Her hands were rarely still, and her creativity brought warmth and beauty into her home and the lives of others. She was also a proud member of the Wi-Five group, a close-knit circle of dear friends who shared countless memories, traveled together, and held cherished girls’ events over the years. Their bond brought her great joy and laughter.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Chism; her son, Christopher Sean Mason; her parents, Laurene and George Brooks; and her siblings, Caroline Brooks and George Wayne Brooks.

She is survived by her daughters, Katherine English and her husband Ryan English, and Lauren Garza and her husband Damian Garza. Diana was a proud and devoted grandmother to Shaylyn, Makayla, Christopher, Jeremy, Keely, Elizabeth, and Jonah. She also leaves behind her sister, Terri Williams, and brother-in-law, Ronnie Williams, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Private burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Diana’s memory will be forever treasured by those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
