Delores (Addicks) Gaskamp passed away peacefully on the 29th of November 2024. She was born on the 20th of March in 1933 at home to tenant farmers Ben and Selma Harmeigh Addicks. She was baptized at home. She was confirmed at St Matthew's Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. Delores married Floyd Gaskamp on the 25th of November in 1951.
She worked for 16 years under the Catholic nuns at San Francis Hospital where she received her LVN nursing license. She stayed in the nursing career while raising her two girls, Diana and Betty, until she and Floyd opened their own business, Gaskamp's Fabrics and Floyd's Rebate. She spent a great amount of time meeting with the ladies in town helping them to pick out fabrics, making life-long friends and sewing drapery. She did this for over 35 years when the store was unfortunately taken by a fire. Floyd and Delores then decided to retire and travel the world with their friends and family for the next chapter of their life. Some of the places she has been to include many of the states, Germany, and Jerusalem to see the Holy Lands to name a few.
Her joy and purpose in life was her chaplaincy all over Texas for over 40 years. She spent 20 years in prison and hospital ministry. She served on numerous committees in her church. She was devoted to sharing the love, work, and word of the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Gaskamp; daughter, Diana Williams; son-in-law, Bob Keith; parents, Ben and Selma Addicks; father and mother-in-law, Ed & Hilda Reue Gaskamp; sister Lorena & brother- in-law Raymond Neumann; sister and brother-in-law Florence & Butch Ripple; brother-in-law Raymond Bentke and nephew Gary Ripple. They have welcomed her to her eternal home in the Kingdom of Heaven.
