Mrs. Whisnant was born in Roseburg, OR on September 15, 1953 to Lyndal Voyt and Lunetta Jovell Shoults Privett. She worked in the health care industry as a nurse. She married her husband, Dale Whisnant, on June 10, 2000.

Being a grandma was her greatest joy in life. She loved RV trips with Dale to Florida every winter and Michigan every summer. She enjoyed traveling, going to car auctions with Dale, eating crab legs and playing the slot machines at the casinos. She had an amazing green thumb and could grow literally anything. She loved crafting and restoring old furniture that she made for her home and family. She had the most generous heart and loved to spoil everyone she loved. She was an amazing cook and loved to celebrate holidays with our family where she cooked for days in advance. She was such a beautiful lady, always perfectly proper with her hair, makeup, and nails perfectly polished. She was possibly the world’s greatest shopper and had a shoe collection that every woman would envy. Most of all she was a fighter and inspiration to everyone. She never lost hope or her will to overcome. She was as tough and as generous as they come. She loved flowers. Please send flowers in her honor.

She was survived by her husband, Dale Whisnant of Brenham, TX; son, Levi McElreath of Brenham, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Amye and her husband Chad Angerstein of McKinney, TX, and Nicole and her husband Jake Sims of Brenham, TX; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sonny and his wife Karen Privett of Gainesville, TX, Lindy and his wife Shelley Privett of Allen, TX, Jody and his wife, Debbie Privett of McKinney, TX; brother, Tommy Privett of Brenham, TX; sisters, Mary Hargeshiemer of Gainesville, TX, Christie Sewell and husband Chad Sewell of Gainesville, TX, and Susan Meinz of Burnett, TX; grandchildren, Kyle Sims of Brenham, TX, Austin Angerstein of McKinney, TX, Audrey Angerstein of McKinney, TX, and Carter Angerstein of McKinney, TX.
