Chester Robert Lucherk, 84, died October 8, 2019 in Bryan.

Mr. Lucherk was born December 8, 1934 in Chappell Hill to Edward and Margaret Jozwiak Lucherk. He was baptized at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. On February 4, 1956 he was married to Monica Springer. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Brenham at the time of his death.

Other memberships included the Burton VFD, and the Cattleman’s Association. He enjoyed playing pitch, fishing, hunting, and watching westerns. He especially treasured time spent with his family. Chester left us, went to his heavenly home, picked up Monica, and went to check the cows.

Funeral services for Chester Robert Lucherk will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Ed Kucera, Officiant. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Chappell Hill.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with a Rosary scheduled for 7 p.m.

Survivors include sons Robert Lucherk of Hempstead; sons and daughters-in-law Timothy and Karen Lucherk of McCoy, Kenneth and Patsy Lucherk of Brenham, and Kevin and Misty Lucherk of Burton; daughters and sons-in-law Cynthia and Steve Brittain of Georgetown, and Kimberly and Glenn Wilson of Navasota; sisters Julia Kmiec, Augustine Baskin, Bernice Lewandoski and husband Willie, Dorothy Jozwiak and husband Ike, and Elizabeth Krolczyk and husband John; grandchildren: Springer Brittain, Sophie Brittain, Kody Lucherk and wife Loni, Kara Lucherk, Blake Lucherk, Taylor Lucherk, Tyler Lucherk, Presley Wilson, Parker Wilson, Riley Lucherk and Cooper Lucherk. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Lucherk was preceded in death by his wife, Monica on September 9, 2016; granddaughter Morgan Brittain, and brother, Floyd Lucherk.

Serving as pallbearers are Springer Brittain, Kody Lucherk, Blake Lucherk, Taylor Lucherk, Tyler Lucherk, Riley Lucherk, and Cooper Lucherk. Craig Gouldson and Robert Tappe will be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to Burton FFA Alumni and Friends.
