Charles Partin

Charles Bavoux Partin, 82, of Brenham, died May 10, 2003, at his residence. Mr. Partin was born Jan. 17, 1921, in San Leon, TX, to Charles William and Josephine Bavoux Partin. He was baptized Jan. 31, 1921, in Sacred Heart Church in Galveston and was confirmed in 1935 in All Saints Church in Houston. Mr. Partin was educated at St. Thomas High School in Houston and the University of Houston. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in the Pacific theater during World War II. On Dec. 28, 1943, he married Dorothy Zagst in All Saints Church in Houston. Mr. Partin was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen, the Houston Association of Petroleum Landmen and the Sons of the Republic of Texas Jean Batiste Bavoux Chapter of Galveston. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Partin of Brenham; sons and daughter-in-law, Dr. Charles David and Inell Partin of Bryan and Joseph C. Partin of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Jim Novakoski of Houston, Julie and Nick Roccaforte of Houston, Diane and Gary Giuffre of Bellville, Patrice Vandever of Brenham and Renee and Fred Lauckner of Houston; and 21 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Frank C. Partin. The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 13 in St. Mary s Catholic Church in Brenham with Father Richard Tijerina, celebrant. Burial will be in the Veterans National Cemetery in Houston. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. today. Pallbearers will be Dr. Charles David Partin, Joseph C. Partin, Robert E. Leone, Nick J. Roccaforte, Gary W. Giuffre and Fred G. Lauckner. Honorary pallbearers will be James J. Novakoski, James E. Fischer and Frank Spellman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice Brazos Valley or Thank A Veteran. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
