Charles Lee Hahn, 74, of Brenham, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his family.

Charles was born on March 23, 1952, in Brenham, Texas, to Henry and Estelle Hahn, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, June Joswiak, and his father-in-law, Ewald Ising.

A lifelong resident of Washington County, Charles graduated from Texas A&M University in 1974 and began a career with Brenham Wholesale immediately after college. He remained with the company until his retirement, earning the respect of coworkers and customers alike through his dedication, integrity, and genuine care for others.

Charles grew up attending St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham, where his faith first took root. Later in life, he became a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church in Zionsville, where his faith continued to guide him. He faithfully served on the church council and generously gave his time volunteering with Burton Bridge Ministries. He believed in serving others with humility and quiet compassion.

Charles found his greatest joy in the simple things that mattered most. He loved spending time working in his yard, enjoying days at the family farm, hunting, listening to AM 1280, cheering on Aggie football and Aggie baseball, and being with his family. His grandchildren brought him immeasurable happiness, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved, unruly dog, who never failed to bring a smile to his face.

Those who knew Charles will remember his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and his remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and cared for. He had a gift for connecting with others, offering encouragement, sharing a laugh, or simply being present when someone needed him. His kindness, steady faith, and love for family will remain his lasting legacy.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Hahn; his children, Jeff Weirich and his wife Katherine, Megan Leeth and her husband Justin, and Melissa Grant; his cherished grandchildren, Hayes and Ryan Kate Weirich, and Taylor and Reagan Grant; his brother-in-law, Danny Joswiak; his mother-in-law, Bobby Ising; as well as extended family and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Zion Lutheran Church in Zionsville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Blank, Daniel Folmer, Al Leissener, Bill Nutt, David Schomburg, Dan Smart, and Rudy Tiemann. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Joswiak and Duane Smart

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or to the charity of your choice.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff at Baylor Scott & White Hospital for the compassionate care they provided during Charles’s final days.

Though he will be deeply missed, Charles leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, laughter, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
