Cathie Clayton

September 13, 1942 — January 8, 2026

Cathie Elizabeth Clayton peacefully entered the arms of her Savior on Thursday, January 8, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Houston, Texas to Horace and Sammie (Gill) Buchanan on September 13, 1942. She grew up attending Spring Branch schools in Houston. Cathie married the love of her life, Buck, on September 11, 1964 and their 53 year love story began. Together, their shared love for Jesus laid a strong foundation for their family - one that has left a lasting legacy for generations to come. Cathie’s life was defined by kindness, joy and a deep devotion to those she cherished. Her greatest treasures were her daughters, Jolie and Jennifer, along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a special gift of making each one feel uniquely loved and deeply valued. Cathie was generous, compassionate, and always willing to set aside her own needs to help others - anytime, without hesitation. She poured her heart into creating warmth and magic for her family through her love of decorating her beautiful yellow victorian home for the holidays, preparing home cooked meals, and sharing her famous Christmas pralines. The many cherished traditions, along with the love she gave so freely, will live in our hearts forever.

Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer Harmeier, son-in-law Frank Harmeier, granddaughters, Cassidy and Carleigh Harmeier, grandsons, Cody and Casey Harmeier and wife Nancy of Tomball; daughter, Jolie Weidemann, son-in law Randy Weidemann, grandsons, Dane and Cade Weidemann of Brenham; Great Grandchildren, Nova, Nora and Micah and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers chosen to honor and serve include: Mike Buchanan, Jimmy Buchanan, Robert Buchanan, James Buchanan, Randy Weidemann, Casey Harmeier, Frank Harmeier, John Tucker and Kris Lillegard. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons, Dane and Cade Weidemann.

We would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to Casey and Nancy Harmeier, Maria Padilla, the compassionate staff at Village Green Cypress, and Altus Hospice for their loving and devoted care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor can be made to the Velocity Church building fund, P.O. Box 906, Brenham, Texas 77834.
