Caroline Dorothy Weed

Caroline Muchow Weed, age 78 of Brenham passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 7, 2024, after a brief illness with pancreatic cancer.

Visitation with family will be Thursday, January 11th from 5pm to 7pm at Memorial Oaks Chapel, Brenham.  Funeral services will be Friday, January 12th at 2pm at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Burton with burial to follow at E.V. Friedens Cemetery in Gay Hill, Texas.  

Caroline was born August 3, 1945, in Clute, Texas to Herbert and Esther (Kramer) Muchow.  She was baptized in the Christian faith and was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham and attended Grace Lutheran and Brenham ISD schools.  Caroline was married to Darrell Weed in Bryan, Texas on September 18, 1960.  They made their home in Brenham, Texas and were faithful members of Friedens United Church in Gay Hill, Texas.  Caroline was a full-time wife and momma and her life revolved around her family and friends.  Caroline was known as a “fixer of all things.”  She not only enjoyed spending time with family and friends but also loved reading, camping, gardening, sewing, cooking, and spending time outdoors.  To know Caroline is to know the true meaning of love as she loved deeply and it showed in the love and care that she gave to others.        

Caroline is survived by her husband of 63 years, Darrell Weed Sr.; her children - son Darrell “Butch” Weed Jr. and wife, Donna; daughter Pamela “Pam” Wolfenberger and husband Jimmy; her daughter Lisa Cargill and husband Anthony; her grandchildren - John Weed and wife LaTrisha; Kathy Jackson and husband Melvin “Mel”; Jessica Weed and Paolo Macias; Kannon Weed; Vivanne Weed; Shelby Wolfenberger; Kaysie Bradburn and husband Lee; Cade Cargill and wife Sunni.  Great grandchildren – Logan, Allison, Kaylee, Malen, Milo, Eloise Walner, Jude, Jonah, Willa, and Eloise Cargill.  Also survived by her brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Muchow and wife Ann, Brother-in-law, Virgil Weed and wife Judy, Sister-in-law, Theresa Moore, and Brother-in-law Stanley Slavinsky and wife Debbie; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Caroline is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Esther Muchow, in laws, Tom and Ivy Wheeler, sister and brother-in-law Cathleen and Michael Przyborski, and brother-in-law Richard Moore.    

Pallbearers will be Lee Bradburn, Cade Cargill, Matt Gaskamp, Lloyd Kortis, John Kruse, Michael “Mike” Przyborski, James Reaves, Gary Stelter, and Daniel Stegent.

Memorials may be given to Friedens United Church, c/o 350 Old Navasota Rd., Brenham, TX 77833.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
