Bobby Thornton

Bobby Jack Thornton, 76, husband of Rosemary Thornton, died December 9, 2018 in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, with Pastor Mark Moldenhauer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Bobby Thornton was born November 2, 1942 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Henry Jack and Virginia (Henchey) Thornton. He was baptized at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, and later confirmed in Dallas. On Sept. 21, 1969, he married Rosemary Klussmann.

Bobby’s love of cooking led him to be employed as a chef. Blessed with a great sense of humor, Bobby loved to help people. He was fond of adventure, and enjoyed camping and fishing in Colorado.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Thornton; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Ronda Thornton of Katy; daughters Stacey Suess of Austin, and Stephanie Brewer and husband Aaron of Montgomery; and Diana Walker of Conroe; grandchildren: Katherine Ross, Caleb Thornton, Coral Suess, Asher Suess, Alyssa Brewer, Chance Schultz, Michelle Call, and Tasha Seymour; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Raymond and Ann Klussmann, Wayne Klussmann, and Randy and Lois Klussmann, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobby was preceded in death by Henry Jack and May Thornton, Dave and Virginia Monroe, and Bobby Thornton, Jr.; Freddie and Rose Lee Klussmann and Patricia Klussmann.

Serving as pallbearers are Caleb Thornton, Asher Suess, Cole Klussmann, Bert Klussmann, Bradley Klussmann, Jeff Schwartz, Logan Schwartz, and Aaron Brewer.

Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran LCMS – General Fund.
