Violet Blondean Quinn Kuecker

Blondean was born on November 9, 1934, in Beyersville Texas, Williamson County, a small farming community to August and Lillie Belle Thonig Quinn. She was baptized on February 3, 1935. She started first grade in Carmine, Texas where her father farmed before moving to Brenham.

She joined the First United Methodist Church on April 14, 1946, and was a lifelong member.

Blondean graduated from Brenham High School in 1953 where she was a cheerleader in her junior and senior years. She attended Blinn College and Business School.

She went to work in the Tax Office in the Washington County Court House and then went to work in the District Clerk's Office. Blondean was appointed in 1983 to the position of District Clerk, ran and won three unopposed terms and then retired in December 1988. Right after she retired, she was one of Washington County's voting organizers. She later won the Jefferson Jackson Award in 1999.

After retirement Blondean loved spending time with her three grandchildren, Heather, Daniel and Jacob. Blondean and Henry would take their grandchildren to the camp house and let them explore, fish and eat junk food! Blondean and Henry would come to Caldwell to enjoy watching their grandchildren participating in school activities, sports and the fair. They also loved to listen to gospel music especially the Gaither's. The couple would often visit Canton Texas to visit JoLynn and Kenneth to shop and stay the night out. Later, Blondean was blessed with 9 great- grandchildren whom she cherished and loved spending time with on the Caldwell Farm.

She was the main caretaker for Henry for many years until he passed away November 14, 2016.

She also volunteered at Baylor Scott and White Hospital, belonged to the Hospital Auxiliary, was a member of the Wesleyan circle at her church and VFW Auxiliary.

Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 121:1&2 "I lift up my eyes to the mountains- where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth."

Blondean was preceded in death by her parents August and Lillie Quinn, her husband Henry Kuecker; her sisters and brothers-in-law Joyce and Steve Mantey, Lillian and Monroe Gaskamp and Vivian Janes; her son-in-law Kenneth Briggs; nephews Mark and Kerry Mantey, Doyle Gaskamp, Craig Kuecker, Mike Kuecker and Greg Sebesta; niece Darlene Gaskamp Koester; brothers-in-law and sisters-in law Ervin and LaVerna Kuecker, Ervin and Evelyn Schulze, Clarence and Dorothy Kuecker, Elroy and Betty Kuecker, Howard and Mildred Kuecker, Herbert Sebesta and Wilfred Kuecker.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law JoLynn Kuecker Briggs and Tracy and Tony McNicoll; grandchildren Heather and Ricky Brewer, Daniel and Candice McNicoll and Jacob and Shelby McNicoll; great-grandchildren Mckenzie, Elijah, Matthew, Aubree, William, Elaina, Madelyn, Hudson and Hadley; brother-in-law Alvin "Buddy" Janes; brothers and sisters-in law Barbara Kuecker, Doris Sebesta, Charles Kuecker and Gerald and Theresa Kuecker and many nephews and nieces.

A visitation for Blondean will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Memorial Oaks Chapel located at 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, Texas. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church Brenham located at 408 North Baylor Street, Brenham, Texas. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Daniel McNicoll, Jacob McNicoll, Jason Janes, Brian Paul Janes, Ron Kuecker and Mark Kuecker.

Honorary pallbearers will include Ricky, Elijah, Matthew, William and Hudson.

The family wants to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice and Brenham Nursing and Rehab for the end-of-life care for Blondean.

Memorials may be made in Blondean's honor to Amedisys Hospice or First United Methodist Church Brenham.
