Betty Jane Schroeder

Betty Jane Schroeder, 81, of Brenham, TX, died on October 23, 2023.

A visitation will be held from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2023 with the family present from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Ryan Ogrodowicz officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Betty was born on January 9, 1942 in Needville to Erich and Hennie Klussmann Schroeder. She was baptized on March 1, 1942 at Emmanuel Evangelical Church of Needville. She was confirmed on March 25, 1956 at Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham by Pastor Paul Ludwig.

She attended Kenney Elementary School and graduated from Bellville High School. She attended Blinn College and received an Associates of Arts Degree. While attending Blinn, she worked part time in the Registrar’s office. After graduating from Blinn, she started working full time as a secretary. She also worked at First National Bank of Brenham as a secretary and Banking Officer.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, embroidering, and taking care of her plants and yard. 

Betty is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Lee Fred and wife Barbara Schroeder; nieces and nephews, Jennifer and Brian Lorenz, Sheila and Scott Neumann, and Shelby and Grant Parker; great nieces and nephews, Kourtney and Justin Cook, Karley and Justin Brending, Joshua and Stephanie Neumann, Jordan Neumann, Kolbie Parker, and Ty Parker; great-great nieces and nephews, John and Allison Cook, Bailey, James and Mallory Neumann, and Liam Neumann.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Erich and Hennie Schroeder; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers include: Scott Neumann, Grant Parker, Brian Lorenz, Justin Cook, Justin Brending, Joshua Neumann. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
