Bernice N Rodenbeck, 95, passed away June 29, 2022 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Phil Geleske officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at a Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Bernice was born March 7, 1927 in Brenham, the daughter of Walter and Elsa Dippel. On January 5, 1947 she was married to the love of her life Charlie Rodenbeck at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include children: Brenda and Ron Stone of Howe, Texas; Carl and Deanna Rodenbeck of Zachary, Louisiana; grandchildren: Amanda and husband Jason Grosze; Megan and husband Luke Atchley, and Connor Rodenbeck; great grandchildren: Abel Atchley, Elias Grosze, and Baby Atchley. She is also survived by her sisters Janice Kapner and husband Sidney and Elaine Dippel; sister-in-law Dorothea Dippel. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Alvin, Eugene, and Donald Dippel; sisters Alice Schaefer and husband Melvin, Delores Winkelmann and husband LeeRoy; father-in-law and mother-in-law Charlie and Lydia Rodenbeck.
Bernice was very proud of her work at Wallace computers from where she retired. She enjoyed sewing and quilting something she carried on from her mother and passed down to her grandchildren. She sewed many dresses for her granddaughters, costumes for her grandson and granddaughters. She was involved in quilting groups in Brenham making many quilts for various organizations. She enjoyed teaching quilting classes at the Senior Activity Center of Brenham.
After moving to Louisiana, she enjoyed spending time with her family in Louisiana especially those visits with her great grandchildren which brought her many smiles and laughs.
Serving as pallbearers are Greg Dippel, Duane Dippel, David Dippel, Robert Winkelmann, Brett Kapner, Troy Kapner, Brian Cramm, and James Herman.
Honorary pall bearers are grandson Connor Rodenbeck; granddaughters Amanda Grosze and Megan Atchley.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Media Ministry or to Senior Center of Brenham.
