Obituary

Barbara L. (Jozwiak) Haar, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 11, 2026.

Barbara was born on October 29, 1937, in Brenham, Texas, to Frank and Myrtle (Harding) Jozwiak. She grew up in Brenham.

On Friday, January 13, 1956, Barbara married the love of her life, Alton Haar. They always said there was never a bad Friday the 13th for them! Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with love, family and faith. Their union was blessed with two daughters. Barbara and Alton worked side by side for more than 35 years at the Dr Pepper Bottling Plant, building a life together through their dedication and hard work.

Barbara was a hardworking woman who always needed to keep busy. Whether she was cooking, sewing outfits for her daughters, crocheting, reading, or making special fruit baskets and peanut brittle at Christmas, she was happiest when she was creating something or doing something for others. Her daughters admired their mother's strong work ethic and the strength and determination she displayed throughout her life. Barbara's love was often expressed through the things she made with her own hands and the countless ways she cared for her family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Alton Haar; her parents, Frank and Myrtle Jozwiak; In Laws, Otto and Ella Haar; her sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Mike Mendoza; her brothers, Anthony, Stanley and Charles Jozwiak; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Margie Haar, Charles and Josephine Nance, and Jerry Rinn; and nephews, Bobby Rinn, Keith Jozwiak and Charles Edward Nance II.

Those left to cherish Barbara's memory include her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Robert Remmert and Deborah and Gary Noerenberg; her sister, Patricia Rinn; her sister-in-law, Mary Jozwiak; grandchildren, Ashley and Lanny McPherson, Dustin Remmert and Robert Garcia Remmert, Lucas Noerenberg and Christina Marinis, and Brianna and Justin Bell; great-grandchildren, Cole McPherson, Cate McPherson, Austin Bell, Cooper Bell and Nayvie Bell; along with numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Barbara will be remembered for her strong spirit, tireless work ethic, creativity, devotion to her family, and the love she shared so generously with those around her. Her legacy will live on through the family she loved so dearly and the many lives she touched.

A visitation for Barbara will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, located at 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, Texas.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's UCC Burton, located at 516 Colorado Street, Burton, Texas. Burial will follow at St. John's UCC Church Cemetery.
