In Loving Memory of Aaron D'Wayne Ross

A Tribute to Strength, Faith, and an Unbreakable Spirit

Aaron D'Wayne Ross' journey on earth came to its peaceful close on October 17, 2025. Just three months prior, Aaron had finally regained his freedom-an immense milestone after facing so many years of struggle and uncertainty. The first days of his new life were marked by determination and hope as he set out to rebuild, piece by piece, the life he had long dreamed of living.

Aaron was born to Bonnie Louise LaFrentz Franke-Flynn. He grew up in and around the Houston area. He was raised with his two younger sisters. He was also very close to his grandparents Quinn & Gloria Simmang of Brenham. He attended Brenham High School and Milby High School. Aaron had accepted Jesus as his personal savior as a teenager while attending Cathedral of Faith Church in Pasadena, TX.

Aaron learned how to repair appliances from his Grandaddy Quinn and excelled to the highest levels. He was naturally mechanically inclined, and, in the eighties, there was not a car he could not fix. He earned his living for most of his life in the appliance repair business.

Aaron was just getting started. In three short months, he had secured a truck, honest work, a motor home to live in, a place to put the motor home. He had a couple of guys working with him, a few faithful friends, sobriety, and his freedom. His good friend Mike Burkhart had just taken Aaron to get his driver's license that day, and he had big plans. Each achievement, no matter how humble, was a testament to Aaron's resolve to start fresh and carve out a new chapter of his life.

The road that led Aaron here was not an easy one. He endured countless hardships and battled through valleys that might have broken a lesser man. Yet each time he stumbled, Aaron found the strength to rise again. His faith was his anchor; he knew the Lord intimately and loved Him deeply. The Bible says, "Those who have been forgiven much, love much," and Aaron embodied that truth with every step. His perseverance inspired everyone around him, showing us that no obstacle was insurmountable with faith and determination.

When I think of Aaron, I remember his childlike joy and the way he saw beauty where others might have missed it. He would call his home "paradise," and you could feel the sincerity in his words. His spirit was infectious-a reminder to cherish every moment and never lose hope. He had the gift of gab, and loved to talk and share his plans. You couldn't help but be entertained and get on board with whatever plan he had cooked up. I am proud of my brother, uncle, son, father, and friend who never gave up, and grateful for the Lord who never let go of him.

Though we mourn Aaron with deep sorrow, we are comforted knowing he passed peacefully in his sleep, filled with dignity and grace. We will never know all the things the future might have held for him, but we honor the legacy he leaves behind-a legacy of courage, resilience, and unwavering love. Now, Aaron is truly home, in Paradise, embraced by his Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he loved so dearly. We will remember his joyful spirit and the warmth he brought into our lives, thankful for every moment we shared.

Aaron leaves behind his mother who loves him dearly. He also leaves his children, his two sisters and his niece and nephew. Aaron will never be forgotten.
