Suzanne Addicks

Suzanne Addicks, 63, wife of Floyd Addicks, passed away March 20, 2011 in M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m., March 24, 2011 in Salem Lutheran Church of Salem, with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Suzanne was born December 16, 1947 in Houston to Edwin, Jr. and Mae Ola Witte Grebe. She was a graduate of Brenham High School and attended Blinn College. On July 26, 1959 she was baptized in Grace Lutheran Church in Houston by Rev. David Conrad, and confirmed Feb. 25, 1962 by Rev. Louis Kramer in St. John s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. On May 18, 1969 she was married to Floyd Addicks in St. John s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Rev. A. J. Mohr. A member of Salem Lutheran Church of Salem, Suzanne was a new accounts officer at Citizen s State Bank in Brenham, and worked at Westwood Gifts on a part time basis. Survivors include her husband Floyd Addicks of Brenham; mother, Mae Ola Grebe; son Dave Addicks and wife Trina of Cedar Hill; daughter Cindy Hiekal and husband Amir of Houston; grandchildren Xavier, Darby and Sean; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ervin and Dovie Mae Addicks; Lonnie and Dorothy Addicks; Albert, Jr. and Effie Addicks, all of Brenham, and an aunt, Dorothy Hahn of Brenham. She is preceded in death by her father, Edwin Grebe, Jr.; her grandparents, Edwin & Ida Mae Reue Grebe and her parents-in-law, Albert, Sr. and Ella Wellbrock Addicks. Serving as pallbearers are Xavier Cherry, Amir Hiekal, Corey Flentcher, August Aschenbeck, Donald Huebner, and Darrell Loesch. Memorials may be directed to either Salem Lutheran Church of Salem or M.D. Anderson Cancer Center; P.O. Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210-4486.
