Susan Buck

May 22, 1942 — April 22, 2012

Mrs. Susan Harris Buck, 69, of Houston passed away Sunday April 22, 2012 due to diabetic complications. Susan graduated in 1960 from Navasota High School where she served as a twirler. As a teenager she also served as Duchess in the Brenham Maifest. She married Travis Buck in 1963 and enjoyed 43 years of marriage until his death six years ago. Susan enjoyed playing tennis, bridge, and slot machines. She also liked making crafts especially holiday themed ones. She always enjoyed celebrating 4th of July and Christmas with her extended family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Many people turned to Susan for advice and guidance, she was always there to listen and be there for you when you needed her. Susan is preceded in death by her parents Dr. G. C. Harris Jr. and Edna G. Harris of Navasota, and her brother G. C. Harris III. of Houston, and her nephew Heath Harris. Susan is survived by her daughter Kim Gaiennie and husband Ed, son Randy Buck, and grandchildren; Cameron and Harrison Gaiennie, Cole and Courtney Buck. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Lamar and husband Jim, brothers Steven Harris and wife Toni, Mike Harris and wife Kay, sister in-law Judy Harris, and numerous nieces and nephews. Susan also leaves behind Libby Evans whom she loved like a daughter. She will be greatly missed. Funeral Services are being provided by Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham, TX 77833. Graveside Services will be held Saturday April 28, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Friedens Church of Washington United Church of Christ, 20301 FM 1155 E, Washington TX 77880, with Pastor Greg Felder officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friedens Church.
