Sue Carlile Works November 8, 1936- May 10, 2010. Resident of Brenham, Texas. After a courageous 7 month battle with cancer, Sue passed away peacefully in Brenham. Sue was born and raised in southeast Kansas and graduated from Altoona High School. She was a registered nurse and extended her career by becoming a Certified Occupational Health Nurse. Sue loved teaching others in the corporate world and took great care of her clients. She was one of three children born to the late Ellen Dannels and was the beloved wife of David Works. Sue will forever be remembered by her devoted brother Donald Dannels, beloved children Rusty and Kevin Carlile, treasured grandchildren Shawn, Taylour, Amber, Morgan and McKenzie Carlile, step-children John Works and Elizabeth Becker, and Rob Works; step-grandchildren Gregory and Robert, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her. Sue loved creating beautiful works of fiber art, playing the piano, laughing, being with her family, having fun with friends and caring for others in need. Sue touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Sue took great pleasure in teaching others to create works of art using "two sticks and a string". Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, May14th, 2010, at 11am at St. Peter''s Episcopal Church, 2310 Airline Drive, Brenham, TX . Father David Ottsen will officiate. The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Stoney Lacina, Barney Fleetwood, Carson Campbell, John Works, Rob Works, and Gregory Stewart. The family requests all donations be sent to the wonderful people at Hospice Brazos Valley who gave such wonderful care to Sue in her time of need. The address is 302 E.
