Ruby Stein

November 25, 1911 — April 23, 2006

Ruby Wunderlich Stein, 94, of Brenham, died April 23, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mrs. Stein was born Nov. 25, 1911, in Sandy Hill, Texas, to Rudolph and Emma Dierking Wunderlich. She was baptized March 17, 1912, in St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill by Pastor A. Fuenning and was confirmed Jan. 16, 1927, in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem by Pastor H.A. Heineke. On July 1, 1933, she was married to William G. Stein in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem by Rev. Hartmann. Mrs. Stein was a member of St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham. She was a homemaker and seamstress and made many quilts for Salem Fire Department. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Odell and Marilyn Stein of Brenham; grandsons, Russell Stein and wife Evelyn and Darrell Stein and wife Rose, all of Brenham; great-grandchildren, Bridget and Dalton Stein and Sydney Stein; two sisters, Gladys Boecker of Brenham and Eleanora Zuehlke and husband W.H. Bill Zuehlke of Clifton; brother-in-law, Bennie Boecker of Brenham; and sister-in-law, Gladys Stein of Kenney. She was preceded in death by her parents, R.B. and Emma Wunderlich; husband, W.G. Stein; sister, Pearlie Boecker; brothers-in-law, Fred O. Boecker, Lonnie Stein and Leroy Stein; sister-in-law, Edna Stein; and niece, Lois Faye Stein. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26 at St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Kim Little-Brooks and Pastor Lawrence Bade officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be given to St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham or the church Ladies Aid.
