Raymond Wellmann

Raymond Wellmann, Sr., of Brenham, died May 24, 2006, in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center in Brenham. Mr. Wellmann was born Nov. 8, 1923, in Washington County, Texas, to Henry Sr. and Ida Neumann Wellmann. He was confirmed April 24, 1938, in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wiedeville by Pastor Kurt Hartmann. Mr. Wellmann attended Wiedeville School and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville. On Nov. 1, 1944, he was married to Carrie Mae Steinfeld in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wiedeville by Pastor W.C. Poehlmann. Survivors include his wife, Carrie Mae Wellmann of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Jr. and Rebecca Wellmann of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Burke Bauerschlag of Thorndale; three grandchildren, Reid Allen Bauerschlag, Rallin Wayne Wellmann and Raellen Ruth Wellmann; one great-grandchild, Tori Cheyenne Bauerschlag; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Selma Wellmann, Ernest and Erline Wellmann and Lenora Wellmann, all of Brenham; sister, Lonie Wellmann Addicks of Brenham; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charlie and Gladys Steinfeld, LeRoy and Emma Belle Steinfeld and Leatrice Kapchinski, all of Brenham. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Hilda Wellmann, Fritz Wellmann, Eddie and Ella Wellmann, Herbert and Hilda Wellmann and Harry Wellmann; and sister and brothers-in-law, Lillie and Bill Behnke and Willie Addicks. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 26 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27 in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wiedeville with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Reid Allen Bauerschlag, Rallin Wayne Wellmann, Delphine Addicks, Freddie Wellmann, Wade Wellmann and Jason Hupe. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville or Hospice.
