Olivia Scheu

Mrs. Olivia Scheu, age 88, former resident of Brenham, died November 1, 2008 in Nassau Bay. She was the widow of Otto Scheu. Mrs. Scheu was born November 23, 1919 in Needville, Texas to Henry and Mary Hafer Hendrickson, Sr. She was baptized in Needville on Feb. 20, 1920, and confirmed at St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1934 by Pastor Hartman. She was a graduate of Brenham High School Class of 1938. On April 17, 1949, she married Otto Scheu at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastor Graalmann officiating. Mrs. Scheu was a homemaker. Survivors include her daughter, Helen Stanford and husband Al; son Alton Scheu and wife Donna of Pasadena; grandchildren: Lealand Bruce of Canyon Lake, Thomas Scheu and Waynon Scheu, one brother, Leroy Hendrickson of Brenham; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Henry Hendrickson, and two sisters, Irene James and Bernice Easterling. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2008 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
