Olita Matthies Prenzler, 92 of Brenham, widow of Louis "L. C." Prenzler, died Monday, May 7, 2007, at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Olita Prenzler was born October 19, 1914, in La Bahia, Washington County, Texas to Ernest and Ida Krause Matthies. She was baptized March 2, 1915, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine, and confirmed in the same church on March 24, 1929. On June 21, 1936, she was married to Louis Prenzler at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. She was a homemaker. Her later years were spent at Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Louis; four brothers, and sisters-in-laws; Lothar Matthies, Almuth and Celesta Matthies, Howard and Olefa Matthies, and Weldon and Irene Matthies; two sisters, and brothers-in-law, Elfa and Otto Muehlbrad, and Virgil Matthies; and great grandson Matthew Glowacz. Olita is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Glenwood and Shirley Prenzler of Burton; granddaughter Beth Glowacz and husband John of Cypress; great granddaughter Jennifer Brewer and husband Travis of Katy and Kristen Midyett and husband Dave of North Pole, Alaska; great-great granddaughter, Haylee Brewer. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Felba and Otto Schatz and sister-in-law Johanna Matthies; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Olita was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ of Burton, the Ladies Aid and the Sons of Hermann. The family will receive visitors Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton, Texas. Funeral services for Olita Matthies Prenzler will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at St. Johns UCC in Burton at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be given to St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton.
