Oleta Mertins

Oleta Mertins, 91, of Brenham, died March 14, 2009, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Mertins was born April 24, 1917, in William Penn, Texas, to Henry and Meta Becker Schroeder. She was baptized and confirmed in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn. She was educated at William Penn School. She was married to Willie Mertins in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn. Mrs. Mertins was a homemaker. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Elsie Mertins of Brenham; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Mertins; a brother, Ira Lee Schroeder; and sister, Anita Kohring. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 16 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn with Pastor Jeffrey King officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Kohring, Valgene Kohring, Danny Kohring, James Schroeder, Rallin Wellmann and Ethan Boggan. Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn.
