Myrul Felix Raitz, 83, of Brenham, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007 in Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Giddings. Felix was born September 21, 1923 in Hector, Minnesota to Levi and Alice Schwartz Raitz. He attended Bird Island High School in Minnesota. On April 20, 1985 he married Laura Schulz Raitz in Our Savior Lutheran Church of Houston. Mr. Raitz served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was employed in the commercial building industry as a construction supervisor for IME Co., and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Houston. Mr. Raitz was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sally, and brothers Floyd and Harold Raitz. Survivors include his wife Laura; daughters Debra Schrader of The Woodlands; Daphne White and husband Wesley of Cypress; son Walter Grant and wife Pam of Houston; grandchildren: Nicole Schrader, Alexandra White, Aaron White, Mindy Craig, and Christopher and Kristi Grant; great-grandchildren: Caleb Schrader Toups, Dylan Brandt, Peyton Craig, and Izabella Grant; brother and sister-in-law Lionel Dutch and Daphne Raitz of Houston; sister and brother-in-law Alice and Cliff Sateren of Fergus Falls, Minn., and a sister-in-law, Lillie Stovall and friend Bob Connet of Houston. Other surviving relatives include nieces Cindy Truax and husband Terry, Janice Herrmann, and Irene Herrmann, nephew Don Stovall and wife Christine, as well as special friends John and Verna Lammers, and special caregivers Jackie Fountain and Sharon Moore at Oakland Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services for Myrul Felix Raitz will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel From 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2007. Memorials may be given to The Alzheimer s Association of Houston, 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Tx. 77030-2008. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham, Tx. 77833.
