Minnie Zorn

Minnie Zorn, widow of Max Zorn, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, August 17, 2008. She was 93. Minnie Ojemann Zorn was born May 25, 1915 to Charles and Birdie Bingle Ojemann in Spring Branch. In 1931, she married Max Zorn. Their union was blessed with five children. The family moved to Burton in 1957 to run Cedar Loop Farm in the Rehburg Community. Working alongside her husband, she was a devoted homemaker. A devout Christian, she was active for many years at First Assembly of God now known as Cornerstone Christian Center. She led a worship service at Bluebonnet Hills Care Center every Friday for over twenty years. Mrs. Zorn was preceded in death by brothers Roy Ojemann and Elmer Ojemann, daughter Barbara in 1942 and son Harold in 1951, her husband Max 1979, and son-in-law Philip Edwards in 2003. She is survived by daughter Maxine Edwards; sons and daughter-in-law Michael Zorn, James and Mary Jane Zorn, all of Burton; grandchildren David and Tonya Edwards of Corsicana, Lesley and Katy Zorn of Canyon, Lt. Aaron Zorn of Shreveport, La., and Will Zorn of College Station; great-grandchildren: Madison Edwards of Corsicana, Jackson Zorn and Grayson Zorn, both of Canyon. The family wishes to thank the nurses of AMA Home Health Care and Hospice Brazos Valley, as well as her caregivers whose devoted care allowed her to remain at home these last three years. Visitation will be at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening. Services are slated for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Cornerstone Christian Center, with interment to follow in Addicks Bear Creek Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. David Edwards officiating. Serving as pallbearers are her other grandsons as well as nephews, Gary Grisbee, Victor Grisbee, and James Ainsworth.
